What is the Ganglion of the wrist?
Ganglion cysts is a sac, a grow from the capsule tissue on the wrist. A ganglion cyst contains mucus fluid similar to the fluid found in the joint.
What are the causes?
No one knows what triggers the formation of a ganglion.
Who can be affected?
Women are more likely to be affected than men.
What are the symptoms?
Some ganglion cysts may be painful because the sac pressure one the nerves that pass through the wrist.
How is’t diagnostic?
- Physical Examination
- MRI or Ultrasound sometimes is needed to find a ganglion cyst that is not visible.
How can be treated?
- The ganglion cyst can be removed through a surgery, but this is no guarantee that the ganglion cyst will not grow again.
